Old Home Week Opening Parade
Date: Sat, August 2nd

Location: Starting at Smiths Falls Youth Centre (map) – 71 Cornelia St W, and finishing at Lower Reach Park (map)
The excitement of Old Home Week 2025 kicks off in spectacular fashion on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 1:30 PM with the Opening Parade—a celebration of Our Roots, Our Present, Our Future. The streets of Smiths Falls will come alive with vibrant floats, music, and the unforgettable spectacle of the Tunis Temple Air Force – (Tunis Shriners) unit featuring six brilliantly coloured, motorized mini parade planes that will soar through the streets in style!
The parade begins at the Smiths Falls Youth Arena, where floats are given their final touches before being judged on their creativity and community spirit. At 1:30 PM sharp, the procession will roll down Beckwith Street, wind through Jasper Avenue, and culminate at Lower Reach Park, where the fun continues.
After the parade, head over to Lower Reach Park to get an up-close look at the dazzling floats, celebrate the winners, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of this historic event. This is your chance to fully experience the incredible creativity and pride that makes Smiths Falls such a special place.
So, gather your family, friends, and neighbors and let’s come together to celebrate the spirit of Smiths Falls—where we honor the past, embrace the present, and look forward to a bright future. This is one Homecoming you won’t want to miss!

Things to consider while enjoying Old Home Week!
Be sure to bring chairs, umbrellas, and small tents for sun coverage as shade is limited at most venues. Remember to carry reusable cups and bottles, and pack a bag to take your own waste, which will assist volunteers and staff with cleanup efforts. It is advisable to walk to the venues or utilize the shuttle service since parking for entertainers and accessible spots will be extremely limited. Support eco-friendliness by purchasing food and drinks in reusable containers, opting for glass or aluminum, and steering clear of plastics.
