It’s with great excitement that we invite you to a spectacular drone show that is to be presented by NORTHSTAR Drone Shows on Sunday, August 3, 2025, during the vibrant celebrations of Smiths Falls Old Home Week.
Mark your calendars and join us for this breathtaking event on day 2 of the 8 day festivities. We have plenty of exciting plans in the works, and we’ll keep you updated as details are confirmed. We’re absolutely thrilled to be in the midst of planning Events for Smiths Falls Old Home Week 2025!
This highly anticipated historic 8-day event has been a beloved tradition since 1925, occurring every 25 years in 1950, 1976, and 2000. And guess what? Next year, we’ll be celebrating its incredible 100th anniversary in 2025!
We want YOU, the amazing community of Smiths Falls, to get involved and suggest events that you’d love to see included. OHW 2025 planned events to date
Old Home Week 2025 event update (all subject to change) August 2nd to 9th, 2025
These are the events the OHW Committee will be hosting and creating. We always need more volunteers and a number is beside what we may need now, leading up to and on event day. it could be your staff and colleagues, reunion crew, service club, school group.
All subject to change
Saturday August 2nd
Opening parade 12:30 to 4 ish including lineup and meet and greet after parade 1:30 to 3 ish
(approx. 30 to 40 volunteers needed for parade development, design and research, parade marshals, judges, commentators, water carriers, barricade monitors, characters, people counting, set up and tear down, runners, info guides. VOLUNTEER here)
From arena parking lot to Elmsley St, down Beckwith over the bridge onto Jasper Avenue to Old Slys Road and into Lower Reach to finish.
Bands, musicians, multicultural entries, special guests, dancers, vehicles (not for advertisement), mascots, prominent Canadians, sports figures, characters, reunion floats, fun floats, horses, and more. All dependent on what entries the community put in. Forms to complete online to register will be available in the near future.

Sunday August 3rd
Wellness Fest at Lower Reach park 11 to 5 ish
(15 to 20 volunteers for set up/tear down, greeting and taking vendors, displays to their site, providing support to all entries, checking resources, garbage cans, people counting, barricade monitoring, runners, info guides. VOLUNTEER here)
Activities including events at the Curling Club, all the way through the park to the Tennis Courts, depending on what the community wants to put in.
Vendors, demonstrations at each sport area, ie pickle ball, tennis, basketball, bocci ball, beach volleyball, water-sports, entertainment, food trucks, interactive health displays, period pain simulator from somedays,
A teddy bear/doll/action figure clinic to get attention for an injury or other health supports, provided by real health professionals
Drone show this will be shown over Lower Reach Park at dusk 9:30 ish with music and narration
(30 volunteers needed for security and barricade mgmt. with drone company, crossing guards, info guides, sound support, vip support, set up, clean up. VOLUNTEER here).

Monday August 4th
Floatfest 2 to 5 ish – location tbd
Grab your personal floaty and join us on the canal and then in Lower Reach Park for food and fun at the finish. We will have boats and safety guides involved throughout the event. you may need a paddle depending on the wind so come prepared.
(30 volunteers needed for registration, safety boats, lifeguards, entertainment support, vendor organization, set up/clean up. VOLUNTEER here)

Night Shirt Parade 6:30 pm to 11pm ish
Starting at the arena parking lot to Elmsley to Beckwith to main st w and George St s to Murphy Park, and including Centennial Park with games and entertainment leading up to movies under the stars
(30 volunteers needed for entries – dress up in your favourite pjs or pjs from the past or future and join us on the walk/get a bed on wheels and push it through town, buggies, wagons welcome, barricade monitoring, info guides, parade marshals, judges, commentators, helping run the activities in the parks. VOLUNTEER here)

Friday August 8th
Riverbank Music Fest 1 to 6pm ish
Neighbourhood tbd
(30 plus volunteers for musical guest guides, home hosts for the entertainment, program development, maps, barricade monitors, info guides, runners. VOLUNTEER here)
Join us on the streets for performances on the lawns and driveways and yards of the neighbourhood.
