Join us for the exciting Old Home Week Floatfest on Monday, August 4th, 2025, set along the stunning Rideau River in the vibrant heart of Smiths Falls, Ontario. This event promises fun for all ages and will kick off at the LeBoat Service Dock, below Combined Locks with access off River St., and flow down to Lower Reach Park. Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity—make your plans now and complete the registration and liability form to secure your spot! ONLINE pre-registration is required due to limited time at docks and for safety preparation.

Floatfest Guidelines & Suggestions

Launch time is between 12 and 1 pm

Most importantly….Have fun and be safe!!

All floaties must be out of the channel by 3 pm outside the green and red markers.
All final decisions for participation are with the ohw committee.
Leave the area as you found it.
Be responsible for your own garbage.
Bring your own water and sunscreen.
Hats, sunscreen, water shoes recommended.
Paddles are required to move along in the event the current is slow.
No hard sided floaties, only the safety boats are hard sided.
Must be pre-registered and wear a wristband.
Under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and wear a pfd/lifejacket.
Under 18 require life jackets but Life jackets/pfd’s recommended for everyone.
There will be limited inflation available, bring your own.
Familiarize yourself and companion floaters with safety boats and and map for exiting or identifying first aid before entering the water.
You must follow the directions regarding movement as announced from the safety boats and lifeguards.
Alcohol is not allowed in or near any area of this event except where identified in Lower Reach Park.
cannabis is not allowed in any area if this event or park area.
